At the beginning of the last century, a pastry chef from Espluga de Francolí, Ricard Farrer Climent, gave his name, without intending to, through his initials RI-FA-CLI, to one of the most renowned brands of artisanal products in its sector.

Through the passage of time, with patience and through continuous testing in his workshop, and by mixing diverse natural ingredients, he accomplished the elaboration of the delicious carquiñolis, fans, wafers and other related products.

The respect for tradition and the artisanal handmade elaboration of fans and wafers of the area can be seen even today in the factory situated in the beautiful medieval village of Montblanc.

The implementation of new advances in technology is present with an automated packaging system, which brings modernity to the traditional process.
